CANstruction has returned for its 11th year in the Capital District. CHA is proud to have supported the Food Pantries through CANstruction every year since its inception. The event will of course be different this year due to COVID-19. Unfortunately there will not be a build day at the museum with structures to visit and no bins to vote for your favorite. But that will not stop us from supporting the Food Pantries for the Capital District in any way we can, especially with an increased need for food donations in the wake of the pandemic.
The Food Pantries for the Capital District is a coalition of over 65 food pantries in Albany, Saratoga, Schenectady, and Rensselaer Counties. The organization helps to distribute over 3 million meals annually in the local community. The goal of CANstruction is to help them have the resources to do so, along with public awareness of the worldwide fight against hunger. Last year’s event contributed a whopping 117,965 pounds of food and $50,000 to the Food Pantries to feed local families.
CHA will also match donations up to $1,500! All donations go straight to the Food Pantries for the Capital District. With every dollar donated, the Food Pantries can purchase up to 6 pounds of food! So, your donation will go a long way to help local families that are food insecure.
ONE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
